Size charts differ between brands, often by half a size. If you sit between two sizes, go by your foot length and the brand’s own chart. For hiking shoes, measure at the end of the day, in the socks you hike in.
How to measure your foot
- Put a sheet of paper on a hard floor, against a wall.
- Stand on it with your heel against the wall, wearing the socks you will wear in the shoes.
- Mark the tip of your longest toe.
- Measure from the wall to the mark, then pick the size whose foot length matches in the full chart.
Measure both feet and use the longer one. Feet are largest at the end of the day, so that is the best time to measure.
