This page does two jobs: it routes your message to the person who can actually act on it, and it tells you exactly what to expect once you hit send. Everything that arrives here is read by someone on the team, not filtered by a bot.

Corrections & feedback
A trail changed, a spec is off, we got something wrong
A trail rerouted, a boot discontinued, a distance we got wrong: tell us. Field-tested guides only stay accurate when readers report what changed out there. Every correction goes to the person who wrote the piece, and if you are right, we fix the guide and note the update.
What to include:
- The link to the guide or review, down to the section if you can.
- What changed, and where exactly.
- When you were there, so we know how fresh the information is.

Want us to test a specific shoe or piece of gear? Suggestions are welcome, and some of our reviews started as reader requests.
Two things to know: we never accept payment or sponsored reviews, and we only review gear we can buy with our own money and test on trail ourselves. So we cannot promise a timeline, or that every request makes it in.
What to include:
- The exact model, not just the brand.
- Why it deserves a spot: who it is for, or what makes it interesting.
- Anything you have noticed about it on trail yourself.

The do’s and don’ts of reaching out
An honest note about volume: an audience this size brings a lot of mail, and not all of it is written by people who actually read the site. These rules keep replies fast for the messages that matter, which is probably yours.
Do this
- Use the route finder above. It preloads the right subject line, so your message lands with the right person on the first pass instead of in the general pile.
- Link the exact page. If your message is about a specific guide or review, paste the URL. “Your boot article” could be any of dozens.
- Give corrections coordinates. What changed, where exactly, and when you were there. First-hand detail is what lets us verify it and fix the guide fast.
- Read the guidelines before pitching. Write For Us covers one-off stories, Join Our Team covers paid testing work. Pitches that follow them get read first.
- Allow two business days. That is our reply window for email. If you have not heard back by then, a polite nudge is welcome.
Please don’t
- Offer to pay for coverage. No sponsored posts, paid links, or “collaborations” with a budget attached. The answer is no at any price, and these messages are deleted without a reply.
- Send a template blast. If an email clearly was not written for OutdoorAdept, it does not get an answer.
- Ship unsolicited samples. Free gear does not buy a review. We buy the gear we test ourselves, so packages sent “for consideration” change nothing.
- Ask us to edit a verdict. Brands are welcome to flag factual errors like any reader, but we do not soften conclusions, swap rankings, or add links because a manufacturer asked.
- Double-send the same message. The form, email, and article comments all reach us. Pick one channel; duplicates only slow down the queue for everyone.

Frequently asked questions
How quickly will I get a reply?
We try to reply to every email within two business days (Monday to Friday). Guest post pitches and job applications can take a few days longer, because the editor who decides reads each one personally. If it has been longer than that, a friendly nudge is welcome: genuine messages never go unanswered on purpose.
Can I join your team?
Yes. We are always interested in hikers who can write, and writers who genuinely hike. Our Join Our Team page covers what we look for, what the work pays, and how to apply.
Can I submit a guest post or contribute to the blog?
Yes, if you have a first-hand story to tell. Our Write For Us page explains the bar every submission has to clear (fair warning: it is strict) and how to pitch us.
How can I report an error or give feedback on an article?
Please do. Use the form, email us, or leave a comment directly on the article. Corrections go to the person who wrote the piece, and if you are right, we fix the guide and are glad you told us.
How often do you publish new guides?
When they are ready. We aim to publish something new most weeks, but a guide only goes live once someone on the team has actually done the thing it describes. Quality sets the pace, not the calendar.
Can I visit you, or send something by post?
Post, yes: the address at the bottom of this page reaches us reliably. Visits, no. There is no central office; the team is based in different countries and hikes together when schedules line up, so your reply may well arrive from a different time zone than you expect. The honest answer is that the best of us are outside more than they are at a desk.
Can we go hiking together?
We would love that. We are always open to going on adventures together, and we gladly organise community hikes when people reach out. If you would like to join one or get a group together, send us a message and tell us where you are: some of the best days on trail start with an email.
Can I request a specific gear or footwear review?
Yes, see “Gear & review suggestions” above: suggestions are genuinely welcome, we just never take payment for coverage and only review what we can buy and test ourselves.
One team, many time zones
OutdoorAdept has no newsroom. Our writers and testers are based in different countries, and we hike together when the calendar allows: some guides come out of shared testing trips, plenty are written solo at a trailhead, in a mountain hut, or at a kitchen table after a testing weekend.
